When we met our client we loved her right away! She gave 3 cheeky birds a call to help her with a problem room. The sitting room was the one unfinished room in the house. It almost had too much potential that it put our client into analysis paralysis with her Pinterest boards so she called 3 cheeky birds to come to the rescue.

The sitting room lies straight ahead as you enter the front door of the home, greeting guests with a large window. Our client loved the lighting and gorgeous natural view of this room so she claimed it as her room for tea and reading.

Part of the 3 cheeky birds design process is to get to know our clients! We have a business built on friendship so we like to approach our clients the same way! We loved hearing her story of her Scottish roots and raising her family in the Bahamas. They have wonderful memories in the carribean and they had lovingly nicknamed the room as the “Bahamas room” as authentic art was featured on the walls. Our client clearly had a modern aesthetic. Her home flows beautifully from room to room. We knew we had to marry the Bahamas with modern style to reflect a room that told the story of her family while becoming functional and inviting.

We loved the idea of contrasting gold tone metal and wood to create a modern island vibe. On the large blank wall we thought that large banana leaf artwork would pull the room together with a current trend and a Bahamian detail to bring our vision to life. Most importantly we kept in mind the request for a bench for our clients teenage daughter who loves taking instagram pictures in this room! Our 3 cheeky birds design document provides details and a mood board which outlines our vision for the room.

Our client was thrilled with the end result and now enjoys a beautiful room that catches her guests eyes as they enter the home. The Bahamas room has been transformed into the perfect functional modern room to curl up with a book and a cup of tea. Check out the gorgeous after pictures!
